Today we’re going to set up our publishing account on Kindle.

https://www.kdp.amazon.com/

You can either sign in with your existing Amazon account or sign up for an account.

You have quite a bit of information to enter today. We’ll start off with your name and address details.

The first half of the screen asks for your full name/company name, your country, and your address and phone number details.

Complete these and then move on to your tax information if you are an American citizen. If you have selected United Kingdom as your country then you move onto the Royalty Payments element of the screen.

Books sold via the Amazon.com site will be paid in US$. Unless you have a US bank account this means that you will receive a cheque in US$.

Please note that sales for each market are calculated separately and paid separately. You will be paid 60 days after the end of the month in which the sale occurred as long as your cumulative balance for that market are above £10 for a bank transfer, or $100 if you are being paid by cheque.

As you can see there are currently six different markets on Amazon.

UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the rest of the world.

Amazon.co.uk sales will be paid to your UK bank account once you have reached £10 in royalties. You can use the same bank account for the UK, DE, FR, ES and IT payments.

In order to complete your bank information you will need the IBAN number and BIC Code for your bank. You should be able to find these on a recent bank statement or contact your bank for assistance. This is not your standard sort code and account number.

Complete these two elements of your account information to complete today’s challenge.

Amazon.co.uk sales will be paid to your UK bank account once you have reached £10 in royalties. You can use the same bank account for the UK, DE, FR, ES and IT payments.
