Ah, Facebook. It has become an online sensation, and the elite’s marketing tool for individual buyers. Buyers’ choices get shared with Facebook’s business advertisers, and all of a sudden, marketing has never been easier. If your focus is on B2B (business to business) sales, Facebook might seem like an unlikely ally. These are some of the major reasons why more B2B sales happen when smart marketing meets Facebook.

  • Businesses are run by people. People each have different stories, and are more likely to buy something that they can relate to and are familiar with. By having an active Facebook presence, decision makers in companies slowly grow familiar with your companies’ wares.
  • Many businesses don’t actually consider other businesses to be viable without a Facebook presence. A strong internet following is one of the best ways to sell your wares to businesses and distributors alike. Facebook helps bring familiarity and popularity to any company when used well.
  • If you are a B2B seller, getting a reputation on both Facebook and Linked In as an authority will work to your advantage. People who view you as an authority on a subject – any subject – will be more likely to trust you with their money when they are shopping. Getting a lot of content on Facebook, as well as bringing a lot of website traffic can help keep that reputation spotless.
  • Avoiding Facebook might be a terrible mistake for B2B selling purposes. Without the traffic, you won’t be able to get the eyeballs from businesses who need your services.
  • Real businesspeople are always looking to network, and Facebook is one of the many ways new talent is being discovered 24/7. If you have a strong Facebook presence, you are more likely to get hired.

The bottom line is that any advertisement is better than no advertisement. Facebook adds a new level of familiarity, friendliness and personal intimacy to your B2B sales.

Are you using it to its full potential?

  1. Casino Hire says:

I would say that facebook has brought me more B2B sales than linkedin !
I you are selling a non essential product as I am, appealing to someone on a personal level definitely seems to work.

I get referrals from Facebook frequently on my site, and I also often channel enquiries to my facebook page as well as my website, as I think they are then twice as likely to add you as a fan / bookmark your site
